Hunt Corporation Gift
These items were formerly collected by the Hunt Corporation and on display in the corporation's Philadelphia offices. The collection was given to the Graphic Arts Collection in 2004.
"The collection includes approximately 40 original drawings, prints, printing blocks, manuscript book leaves, and examples of calligraphy collected by the Hunt Corporation of Camden and Philadelphia over the course of the last century. Included are a number of works by fifteenth- and sixteenth-century masters, among them Jost Amman, Lucas Cranach the Elder, Albrecht Dürer, and Michael Wolgemut. A select group of early-twentieth-century wood engravings, including works by John DePol, Paul Landacre, Dorothy Lathrop, Clare Leighton, and Rudolph Ruzicka, added to our holdings of these important artists. The works of calligraphy range from a Dutch writing book published in 1798 to a number of examples created with pens manufactured by the C. Howard Hunt Pen Company." —Rebecca Warren Davidson. “New & Notable.” The Princeton University Library Chronicle 66, no. 1 (2004): 203–46.
