Lorenzo Homar (1913–2004)
“Earning my living as an artist-craftsman, I try to honor my trade with the maximum of my efforts regardless of the type of work involved. A seal, an illustration or an idea for a painting or engraving; everything that happens around us is worthwhile looking at.”
Lorenzo Homar (1913–2004) was a Puerto Rican printmaker, painter, and calligrapher. The Lorenzo Homar Collection consists of drawings, prints, and posters, reflecting Homar's wide range of work over his decades-long career. Included are drawings from his army days; design drawings of Cartier jewelry; caricatures; and over 90 posters he created for various exhibitions, conferences, and performing arts events. The collection also includes select woodblocks and ephemera such as a few playing card designs.
