The stories we tell are a source of agency and community. This digital archive of Indigenous Amazigh oral narratives positions Amazigh people to engage in relational knowledge by telling their own stories, among their Amazigh communities, both in Tamazgha and in the diaspora. These stories explore the Amazigh language, culture, history, land, and identity, reflecting how each individual experiences and expresses their Amazigheity in their own surroundings.

The Amazigh Indigenous Oral Narratives’ Digital Archive centers oral histories and narratives as told by people from different Amazigh communities in North African Indigenous lands and the diaspora. Students, faculty, and the audience at large will be exposed to stories and perspectives told by Indigenous peoples themselves to ensure that scholarship is holistic and inclusive. Dr. Mounia Mnouer, the project director, is an Amazigh woman from the Ait Belkacem community, Frazza tribe in Khemisset, Morocco. She has been invited to different locations and has sat with Amazigh people from different regions to record their stories, as told by them, to include their voices in the archive.

All contributing Amazigh people own the copyright of their own stories (see the Copyright guidelines linked below), and they have provided written consent for their inclusion in the Digital Princeton University Library. Princeton University Library claims no copyright governing this digital resource. It is provided for free, on a non-commercial, open-access basis, for fair-use academic and research purposes only.
