Indigenous Amazigh lands in Ait Belkacem region, Morocco

The Amazigh Oral Narratives Digital Archive centers oral histories and narratives of diverse Amazigh communities across North Africa and the diaspora. The archive highlights the lived experiences of Amazigh people, centering their voices in various aspects of their history, language, education, art, representation, cultural engagement, and activism.

In these video selections, Amazigh people reflect on their experiences and express their identities in the spaces they inhabit. This project features conversations with Amazigh individuals from the Canary Islands, France, and Morocco, highlighting how they embody their narratives in contemporary life. These archives are more than simple interviews; they represent a collaborative effort in which I, as an Amazigh participant, work in partnership with other Amazigh people to de-center colonial perspectives, produce knowledge, and protect our narratives for future generations.

The Amazigh Oral Narratives Digital Archive is an ongoing project. New materials will be added as they become available.
