- Description provided by the artist: "I created this piece from direct observation, sitting with my sketchbook near the National Library. In the distance, Berkut officers (special forces) were poised to storm, near the National Art Museum. As I painted, I trembled with fear, wondering if I would have enough time to compose myself and escape when their advance began. In the background, Berkut officers prepared for battle, with the National Library on the left and a billboard supporting the Revolution of Dignity. In the foreground, protesters stood against the tyranny of the government at that time."
