From the turn of the 20th century, Princeton has actively collected Persian and Iranian publications resulting in a vast and renowned collection. After World War II, the pace of collecting increased, creating much deeper holdings of contemporary Iranian imprints, including a vast body of periodicals dating from the late nineteenth-century to the present-day.

A subset of this vast collection is Princeton's Persian Broadsides Collection. Containing 160 documents (no. 146 is a duplicate of no. 145) published between the 1910s and the 1950s, these documents offer a glimpse into the past, with items encompassing a wide array of subjects, making the collection a rich source for researchers and enthusiasts alike. Within this collection, you will find letters, court newspapers, governmental announcements and manifestos, as well as documents related to bureaucratic procedures, public health, and social life and customs during the late Qajar period into the Pahlavi era.
