- Evening Service of Roshashanah, and Kippur: or the Beginning of the Year and The Day of Atonement. New York: W. Weyman, 1761.
- Curatorial note:
-
This pioneering edition is the second published translation of the Hebrew liturgy into English, following the Form of Prayer Performed at Jews Synagogue (New York, 1760). Given by Leonard L. Milberg in 2016, the Evening Service provides a welcome complement to one of his many previous donations, the first complete Jewish prayer book published in America: Prayers for Shabbath, Rosh-Hashanah, and Kippur (New York, 1766). The translator of the 1766 liturgy, Isaac Pinto (1720–1791), almost certainly provided the translation for the 1761 Evening Services as well. An immigrant from the West Indies, Pinto was a gifted scholar and prominent member of Shearith Israel, New York City’s only Jewish congregation in the eighteenth century.

- "This pioneering American edition contains the evening liturgy for the High Holy Days. A second volume, containing a translation of the morning liturgy for the High Holidays, the festivals and the Sabbath, appeared in 1766. Dividing up the liturgy for the evening and morning into two separate volumes was an innovation of the present edition. The translator listed in the second volume was Isaac Pinto, and it is widely presumed that he was also responsible for this first volume. Isaac Pinto (1720-1791) immigrated to America from the West Indies. A merchant and teacher of Spanish, Pinto was a member of Shearith Israel, the only Jewish congregation in New York City from 1654 until 1825."- cf. -Important Judaica including property from the estate Of Shlomo Moussaieff.
