- Luther's Kleiner Catechismus was translated into the Delaware language by Johan Campanius Holm on his arrival in New Sweden (Pennsylvania) in 1643. It was unprinted for 50 years, due to the decline in mission work among the Indians. -- cf. A.C. Repp, Luther's Catechism comes to America, ch. 1.
