- 104 albumen photographs document President Chester A. Arthur's excursion through Northwestern Wyoming to Yellowstone National Park in August of 1883. Views along the Presidential party's route include Fort Washakie; the Wind River Valley; the Snake River Valley; Gros Ventre River; the Grand Tetons and Gros Ventre range. Images of Yellowstone show geysers; waterfalls; Yellowstone Lake; Mammoth Hot Springs; and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Photographs also depict camp sites along the route; some portraits of Shoshoni and Arapaho Indians; two portraits of the President with members of his party.
