- Description: Rubricated ; later endpapers have watermark (letters surmounted by a crown)
- Decoration: The first chapter has a 7-line blue initial. Two-line blue initials begin the rubric to the first chapters and all subsequent chapters. Manicules (fol. 75v, 76r)

- France (?), late 16th or early 17th century. Brown calf over pasteboard. Gold-stamped oval medallion that depicts a Crucifixion scene with the letters "BS", and gold-tooled edging on covers. Small gold-stamped medallions on spine. Endbands.

- Unknown early and intermediate provenance. Owned by Sir Thomas Phillipps, perhaps purchased from Thomas Rodd II. Sold from the Phillipps collection in 1896. Bernard Quaritch put it up for sale in 1902. Purchased from Quaritch by Robert Garrett on 1 October 1905. Garrett deposited the manuscript in the Princeton University Library in February 1906 (deposit no. 1397). His gift to the Library, 1942.
