The Marquand Library of Art & Archaeology Collections

Marquand is one of the oldest and most extensive art libraries in America. Our non-circulating open stacks special collection with over 550,000 volumes covers art worldwide from antiquity to the present. Marquand's special collections comprise over 9,000 books, journals, scrolls and other materials ranging from incunables to modern exhibition catalogs. Strengths include architecture and gardens, early Japanese printing, photography, the early 20th-century avant garde, exhibition documentation, and fine facsimiles of illuminated manuscripts and drawings. Marquand is a major contributor to the Digital Cicognara Library project.
