Marquand Library of Art and Archaeology
Marquand is one of the oldest and most extensive art libraries in America. The non-circulating collection of some 500,000 volumes covers art worldwide from antiquity to the present. Marquand's special collections comprise over 9000 books, journals, scrolls and other materials ranging from incunables to modern artist's books. Strengths include architecture and gardens, early Japanese printing, photography, the early 20th-century avant garde, exhibition documentation, and fine facsimiles of illuminated manuscripts and drawings. Marquand is a major contributor to the Digital Cicognara Library project. Those volumes are represented here alongside other selections from Marquand's pre-1923 special collections.
